The Robin Hood Tavern, Pattaya, Thailand.

The Robin Hood Tavern, at The Avenue, Second Road, Pattaya, Thailand. This is a great place to pop in or meet up for some Good Grub and a Beer or just a Snack and a Coffee. Easy for Car Parking or Baht Buses along Second Road or an easy hop from Soi Buakhaow. The Avenue is an open Mall which rambles round an open central area which fronts onto Second Road, with a fair assortment of outlets, one of which is the Robin Hood Tavern. They are on the first floor with a large and well laid out bar area, seating about 90 and there is an outside seating area […]

O Delices Bakery, Jomtien Walking Street, Jomtien, Pattaya.

This is a French Bakery, where you can buy some great and varied Bread, Pastries etc or just sit down inside or out and treat yourself to a Breakfast or a Variety of Cakes or Pastries and some good coffee. There is a third option which is hard not to take…..eat in first then before you leave, buy stuff to take home! O Delices is in Jomtien in their ” Walking Street”. If you turn right into Jomtien, going from Pattaya, at the traffic lights on Jomtien Second Road, then it is just on the right before you arrive at the left turn along the beach. There is a large […]

Four Kings Fitness and Sauna, Noen Plub Wan, Pattaya, Thailand.

This is a very nice place to relax and spend some time and there is no rushing to leave! Just come along and spend time chilling, have a sauna, a swim, some grub and a coffee or even a beer. Essentially it is what it says on the tin, a Sauna. For those who are not conversant with this it is a very hot and humid room which you go into to get very hot, then you come out and get in the very cold pool to, well, get cold! There is also a Steam Room for a similar but slightly different approach but effectively doing the same thing, which […]

Laong’s Bistro and Cocktails, Second Road, Jomtien, Thailand.

This is a really nice place to pop in for some posh nosh or a good coffee and a cake. Run by a very nice man called Robert who hails from Scotland and has been doing a good job there for just over three years. I have been here numerous times and it has never failed to hit the spot. They produce Thai, Fusion and International Cuisine. I guess the most visits are for coffee and cake. Always something to tempt increasing my waistline! On my last visit I had a burger and it was really good, and then it turned out to be a record breaking one, as by […]

Canterbury Tales Bookshop, Guest House and Cafe, Soi Chayapoon, Pattaya, Thailand.

Canterbury Tales are a long established Bookshop, Cafe and Guesthouse. The back of the desk is crammed with Books including some new ones. They also keep a few there held back at customers requests. Situated at the end of Soi Chaiapoon just metres from Soi Bukhao and very near to LK Metro Complex they are easily accessible for a snack, cuppa or a good book. Of course by default anyone staying here is right where the night life is. There is always someone to chat with in the seats out front, usually including the owner Dave who has been wearing out the seats in front for fifteen years. A very […]

Mama’s Cafe, Soi Six, Beach Road, Pattaya, Thailand.

Ok it is just about thirty yards, sorry thirty metres, up on the right hand side of the Soi from Beach Road. A veritable quiet spot for a bit of nice food away from the noise and madness that Soi Six tends to be! Been here many times and always good grub. This time I had the Lasagna from the Chalk Board out front. It was really good! Not sure my picture does it justice but it came on a sizzling trivet! A mix of French / Italian food I think because of Marcel, the owners background. But Thai food is also availiable. And Pizza is a speciality. Lots of […]

hideaway guesthouse pattaya thailand

The Hideaway Guest House and Bar, Soi Buakhao 15, Pattaya, Thailand.

This is a friendly Guest House and Bar. Situated just off Soi Buakhao. Run by the owner, a very friendly chap called Andy and when I met him I found he was someone I had to really look up to! He has been running the Hideaway for almost four years. They are on Soi Buakhao 15 which is the Soi that runs from Soi Buakhao to the back of the Avenue Mall, so it is easy to find. For Google Maps this is the link. They are down the Soi opposite the Nature View Hotel. They do have entertainment on some evenings, such as every Wednesday evening at 8.00 is […]

The Welcome Inn, Soi Kho Noi, Pattaya.

A welcoming place (sorry) to pop in for some Homely Fayre or a few beers. Two thirds aircon and one third out front. About five TV screens with a big-ish one out front. Showing a mix of sport or news. A good few choices on the Menu and usually a special on daily. A good place for a Sunday Dinner, a good Curry, Bangers & Mash, Liver & Onions, Fish & Chips and more including Thai food. Closed on Mondays. There is a Quiz on Tuesdays! They have a good Facebook page which is always kept updated, worth checking out for whats in store for grub or live TV.

Coffee Break, Phratamnak Hill, Pattaya, Thailand.

Ok this is somewhere to have a coffee or a cold drink. Well worth a trip to actually see such a magnificent view of the Pattaya Beach front along, well, Pattaya Beach Road!  Always popular and it can get crowded and the view can be obscured by Selfie Cameras! Coffee Break is up a one way road that loops round to the right and back to the bottom. It is not the real Yellow Brick Road but it is protected on both sides by some yellow rollers, so should you have a brake failure at the top it will operate like a toboggan run and funnel you to the bottom […]

The Dark Side of Pattaya! Thailand.

Ok this is scary stuff. We probably need help over here! USE THE FORCE LUKE….well no, I live there ( mostly!) and don’t really need help, well no more than I usually do. This could be a Newspaper Headline from just about any and every newspaper scare story over the years! Just reading it is enough to make sure you never go there. Come on now, there must be more villains there in the Dark Side of Pattaya than in Gotham City during Batman’s Vacation week. The Dark Side of Pattaya is actually just the East side of Pattaya across the Sukhumvit Road and is really a nice place, nothing […]
