Nicky’s Restaurant Bar & Guesthouse, Soi Buakhow, Pattaya, Thailand.

This is a great place for home from home cooking, run by an English couple, David and Debbie. The food has always been good for me, sometimes a breakfast, sometimes a pick from their well thought out menu. Plenty of breakfast items, with a proper full english with toast through Eggs Benedict onto a healthy options Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs on Granary. Almost every option coming with Tea or Coffee. An assortment of Burgers and Ribs and lots of choices from the Mains and House Specials, Hunters Chicken, Bangers & Mash, Haddock & Chips and Beef Stew & Dumplings. Sunday Roasts are a favourite too, Slow Roast Pork, Beef […]

Mum Cafe, Soi 15 Soi Buakhow, Pattaya

This is a very new and welcome addition to the coffee shops available here. They opened on Valentines Day in 2020. I have been there a few times and the food and service was always spot on. It really is a freshly made and healthy option kind of place! Pleasing and simple decor with a few tables and chairs or comfy sofa seating inside with Aircon or some casual seating outside at the front to watch the world go by. First time here I tried the Croque Monseur with an added Egg and for my second visit I had the Avo Mash, which comes with Salmon and poached eggs on […]

The Sportsman Pub & Restaurant, Soi 13 Beach Road, Pattaya

This is a great place to pop in for some quality food and drink, with big TV’s to watch some Sports or use the Pool Table. Open from 7.00am till 2.00am The Sportsman has been around a long time, in fact from 1997, and now being run with Dave Bowers in the background and Darren Lowe being more hands on, it has and always had, a good English Pub feel to it. Just chatting with Darren for a few minutes, and I could feel the enthusiasum he has about food! He has always been involved with food, cooking in his parents pub and then moving into food distribution and now […]

The Peaky Blinders, Soi 1 Phratamnak, Pattaya, Thailand

Ok, this one is a bit of fun and the first time I heard about this one I was in a private house and was asked if I wanted a Takeaway from The Peaky Blinders! I knew I would have to do a blog! Even more strange was the next question “Do you want a Reuben Sandwich?” Probably not something you would relate to The Peaky Blinders, so after some discussion, we both ordered a Reuben and it turned out to be really very good, not that I know much about American grub and taking up my total input of Reuben Sandwiches to Two! A few days later, as chance […]

Chow Soy, Chinese Food & Guest House, Soi Chaiyapoon, Pattaya.

Chinese Food (English Style) but maybe an oxymoron hanging in there somewhere! They also do English and Thai Grub to cover a variety of tastes. The Menu covers a fair bit of stuff, all the usual Chinese things, Sweet and Sour to Spring Rolls, Beef Curry to Fried Rice. As well as the full size Menu they have also produced a Take Away style Menu as below! The English food covers Sausage and Mash, Pies, Gammon, Steaks and assorted all day Breakfasts, Omeletts and Desserts including Apple Pie with Custard or Ice Cream. There is of course Thai Grub on the Menu. It is simply nice food at very reasonable […]

The Robin Hood Tavern, Pattaya, Thailand.

The Robin Hood Tavern, at The Avenue, Second Road, Pattaya, Thailand. This is a great place to pop in or meet up for some Good Grub and a Beer or just a Snack and a Coffee. Easy for Car Parking or Baht Buses along Second Road or an easy hop from Soi Buakhaow. The Avenue is an open Mall which rambles round an open central area which fronts onto Second Road, with a fair assortment of outlets, one of which is the Robin Hood Tavern. They are on the first floor with a large and well laid out bar area, seating about 90 and there is an outside seating area […]

O Delices Bakery, Jomtien Walking Street, Jomtien, Pattaya.

This is a French Bakery, where you can buy some great and varied Bread, Pastries etc or just sit down inside or out and treat yourself to a Breakfast or a Variety of Cakes or Pastries and some good coffee. There is a third option which is hard not to take…..eat in first then before you leave, buy stuff to take home! O Delices is in Jomtien in their ” Walking Street”. If you turn right into Jomtien, going from Pattaya, at the traffic lights on Jomtien Second Road, then it is just on the right before you arrive at the left turn along the beach. Barry House Resort, Kasset Sombun, Chaiyapum, Thailand

A really nice place to spend a bit of time. This resort is probably just over 10 years old and is about a dozen chalets mostly situated around a Swimming Pool. Pool front has seating and tables under a canopy. The rooms are a good size with Aircon and a Fan. Balcony and seats out front. En-Suite Toilets with Electric Showers. There is a some basic food available from Pizza, Burgers, Fries, Cooked Breakfast, and Sandwiches. There is of course also a bar available. Ok this is not quite Pattaya if you are being picky, but its only 530 km away! Just a seven hour or so tootle in the […]

Mama’s Cafe, Soi Six, Beach Road, Pattaya, Thailand.

Ok it is just about thirty yards, sorry thirty metres, up on the right hand side of the Soi from Beach Road. A veritable quiet spot for a bit of nice food away from the noise and madness that Soi Six tends to be! Been here many times and always good grub. This time I had the Lasagna from the Chalk Board out front. It was really good! Not sure my picture does it justice but it came on a sizzling trivet! A mix of French / Italian food I think because of Marcel, the owners background. But Thai food is also availiable. And Pizza is a speciality. Lots of […]
